Speakers                           Back Next

The speakers are the "mouth" of your system.  There is an itsy bitsy speaker in your case, but chances are good to excellent that you will only get the start-up beeps) out of that one.  You will need a set of external speakers to hear audio CD playback, game sound effects, etc.  The question here, for the most part, is how much money do you want to spend?  Speakers can range from under $10.00 to well over $100.00.

Speaker installation is easy enough.  You just plug the mini-connector (looks like a small head set plug) into the OUTPUT jack of the sound card.  If you only hear an annoying buzz, don't fret.  You probably just plugged the speakers into the microphone jack, which usually looks very similar, and is located right beside the OUTPUT jack in most cases.
